Andrew Eckley > Registered Representative"When I started my career with First Investors, I was overwhelmed with excitement."
When I started my career with First Investors, I was overwhelmed with excitement about the possibilities available in the financial services industry. I had prepared myself with a background in Business Economics at Willamette University, and had consciously started to implement a phrase I had learned: "Be committed to do what it takes to have what you want in life." While short and simple, this idea has served as one of the most important fundamentals in my career with First Investors, and has allowed me to constantly strive for improvement in all areas of my business. Growing up in a family that owned a restaurant, I learned the values of time management, customer service and the importance of building loyal customers. I saw firsthand the level of commitment required to run a successful family business, and how to work together to ensure the highest degree of customer service and satisfaction. As a financial professional, I am committed to doing my very best, which means treating my clients with the same professionalism and sincerity that I would want to be treated. My commitment to my clients is my top priority. I am always prompt, prepared, and ready to work with them to help reach their financial goals. In order to really be able to help people reach goals, one must be willing to do whatever it takes. My clients know that when I come to see them, I am willing to stay as long as needed in order to ensure that the goals of our meeting are accomplished and that they feel secure in the knowledge that I share with them. Doing what it takes also means that I give more than expected, whether in the form of retirement gifts, personal birthday cards, encouraging phone calls during a difficult time or merely being someone who will listen. I arrive for my appointments overly prepared, with more information than necessary, so that we are always ready to move forward. This also helps ensure that I establish a critical level of trust between myself and each of my clients. Building trust rarely occurs instantaneously. It is an ongoing process that takes organization, diligence, and often, simply patience and time, as each person requires an individualized experience with me in order to develop such trust. I have found that many people I meet with are not used to experiencing the First Investors level of service. However, once you deliver on promises made, not only will they respect and appreciate you, but they will then become your best advocate in their spheres of influence. I think that the final component of success is the most personal piece: each of us must prioritize our needs and wants in order to create goals that will help us attain our ambitions. Establishing my career on a referral basis has been the single most important component of creating a successful business that has been rewarding at many levels. With consistent referrals, my business can and should always be moving forward. By following the fundamental principle of, "Be committed to do what it takes to have what you want in life," I am also teaching my clients that they too can achieve what they want in life. It takes a little careful planning, some self-discipline and a long-term commitment. |
